Since the Apple iPhone 5 is expected to be released sometime in September or October it is good to look at the various speculations that have come up in terms of the appearance and specifications it will take. Most people are certain the design will be a little bit different from that of its predecessor, the Apple iPhone 4. However the overall shape is not expected to change much since it is a model of the iPhone series all of which have maintained similar appearances.
One change that is widely expected is in the thickness of the phone. This time round Apple will most certainly make the iPhone 5 much thinner than the previous model. In fact the body could be as much as 3mm thinner. Unlike the iPhone 4 whose back was made of glass this time the Apple iPhone 5 will have an aluminum back cover. This is geared towards ensuring that the phone becomes less fragile. The dimensions are expected to be in the range of 4.82 x 2.53 x 0.34 quite large compared to the iPhone 4′s which were 4.51 x 2.31 x 0.37. This is largely due to the fact that the phone will come with a slightly larger 4 OLED border-free screen that will have the slide to unlock feature.
The layout of the buttons and keys is expected to remain significantly the same though there is a strong suggestion that this time round, the Home key will be expanded maybe to incorporate functionality of gestures and biometrics. Though this is yet to be confirmed many pundits describe it as a very likely possibility. As for color, users will have limited choices since only black and white colors will be available. The camera has been improved by using 4G networks thus making video calls will definitely be more fun and effective. Present will be a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack and a dual microphone. The antenna position will also be changed while the 30 pin dock connector is expected to remain.
One area that the Apple iPhone will certainly be stronger than its predecessor is in the specifications. That was expected after all since there is no way Apple would have produced a model with lesser capabilities. First and foremost the Apple iPhone 5 will be approximately 60% faster than previous models. Wondering how? Well think of a 1.4GHZ Apple A5 Dual Core Processor and a Random Access Memory of 1GB. That surely resembles the processor specifications of a notebook computer! Two variations in terms of storage will be available, one with 32GB of free memory while the other will have a massive 64GB of free storage space.
The screen will have a 4” retina display with a high resolution of 960 x 640 – making the Apple iPhone 5 the first mobile device with such high quality display. Games will be more fun due to the use of modern 3D hardware. The camera will have an 8 Mega Pixel auto focus with dual LED flash. In terms of connectivity the phone will support Wi-Fi, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, 3G, and GSM in addition to 4G Bluetooth. The appearance and specifications of this Apple iPhone 5 are expected to make it simply incomparable.
